Melissa Vrouvides

Community Organizer

At the heart of Melissa’s work is a deep devotion to women — to our bodies, our psyches, our stories, and the complexity of being who we are in the world. She creates spaces that are honest, grounded, and alive with connection. Whether through workshops, circles, writing, or one-on-one support, her work is rooted in relationship, ritual, and a reclamation of what has been culturally forgotten.

Melissa’s approach weaves together conversation, reflection, somatic awareness, creative expression, and depth-oriented inquiry. As a community organizer, she is especially passionate about cultivating spaces that feel nourishing, co-created, and aligned with the cyclical intelligence of the body

She lives in Montréal with her partner and her beloved pitbull, Bonzai. She can often be found walking in nature, tending to her garden, or laughing with friends over a good meal.

Aphrodite's Roots

How It Began

Growing up, my grandmother's house was the hub where family and friends gathered from near and far. Her dining room table was the container that held everything — from celebrations, laughter, and home-cooked meals, to dark secrets, and complicated family dynamics.

What was so beautiful about my Yiayia was how she welcomed everyone as they were. But behind her warmth was a deeper pain — shaped by a time and culture where trauma was normalized, and healing rarely spoken of. In her final years, I watched how the weight of those unresolved stories manifested in her mind and body, and it was heart wrenching to witness.

Through Aphrodite Health, my intention is to honour her spirit –– her authenticity, the comforting elements of my Greek culture, and the quiet sacrifice of her life — by creating spaces that are a conscious reflection of my dear Yiayia's dining room table.

Aphrodite Health symbolizes a continuation of a legacy, a weaving of old and new, a remembrance of those who came before us, and an acknowledgement of grief for what was lost and never will be. It's a stride toward liberating ourselves from generational patterns and cultivating new ways of being, anchored in truth, reciprocity, and embodiment.

With love,

Melissa
